Hi, I’m Anna-Marie.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m an artist, mother, mystic, dreamer, and lover of the Great Mystery. I currently live in Fairhope, Alabama.

I follow a path of inquiry and seek to build a bridge between realms. Dreams, myths, visions, and encounters in Nature inspire my work. While I’m most at home in the world of plants, animals, and my own dreams and imagination, art provides a space to explore, experiment, and alchemize what I gather in the Imaginal.

I work primarily in watercolor and oil. I love making large, expansive pieces or tiny, intimate paintings. This dance of polarities also weaves its way through my process: surrendering to the flow + intervening to provide structure and containment. I love bodies—teaching yoga, facilitating life drawing, swimming in the ocean—and while I vary in subject matter I often return to the figure, particularly that which represents the Divine Feminine.

While I do have limited formal training, I’ve gained most of my experiences outside the studio. My studies include yoga, meditation, tantra, Hermeticism, depth psychology, permaculture, sacred plants, mythosomatics, academic research, astrology, working on retreat, traveling and living abroad, as well as a lot of care and tending of beings. I love to learn by following the synchronicities, as well as receiving the insights of my neighborhood wise women and men.

My path has never been a linear one, but in my spirals, detours, and remembrances I’m learning to integrate my various studies and experiences into an embodied offering. While my work leans in a few different directions, it all stems from the same deep devotion to the soul path with the body as vessel and container of the creative process.

After an uprooting of my life and a return to the US from my previous home in SW Portugal, I am tending the foundations of my life and art practice. I am so grateful to come home to making art more fully again. Thank you to all who receive my work or offer my art a home.

With love and blessings,

Anna-Marie
